United Self-Help is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote mental health through education and mutual support. We offer support groups, fun events, a 4th Friday dinner social, and educational classes.

We’ve provided a number of resources here to help you help yourself. Check out our Calendar to find group meetings and other activities.

Mental Health Matters is a show covering various mental health topics, including prevention, coping and recovery. Usually on Wednesday or Thursday on Olelo channel 54. Check the Olelo TV schedule.

  • United Self-Help support group every Tuesday at 1:00 PM
  • Writers in Recovery every Wednesday at 3:30 PM

Fridays – movement day for better brain and body

Come move with us to grow a younger, smarter and happier brain and body. We will do fall prevention/flexibility exercises, low impact cardio and strength training, music dancing and more. for better brain and body. Music, pickleball, exercise, dance and more!

When: Fridays 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Where: Mōʻiliʻili Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Social Hall on the first floor,

Talk to a fellow consumer on the warm line. The warm line is for mental health consumers who would like someone to talk with. If you get a recording, leave a message. Our lines fill up fast, we’ll call you back. Hours will be from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM seven days a week.

United Self-Help partners with the National Institute of Mental Health to inform the public about mental health disorders, reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness, and increase the public’s awareness of the importance of basic and clinical research in advancing knowledge of the brain and behavior.
